Ryan loves the watery character of watercolor and uses it to paint bold and iconic images of singular objects and cartoon characters - Mickey Mouse’s head (from the back), Alice from Alice in Wonderland; fruit, leaves, veggies … against backdrops of solid fields of color. He works both from photos and his imagination, and enjoys recreating the paintings of Vincent van Gogh.
