Phillip has an introspective and inquisitive nature, and when he paints, he seems to go into a quiet and magical word of his own creation. He is deeply focused and able to render intricate details. He is drawn to natural scenes of great beauty, where color and light at the primary subjects. He admires the impressionists and many other artists, and often draws his inspiration from the abstract interpretation of their paintings and photographs.
